Khaled Marafi is a Regional Advisor at the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) for the West Asia Region, with over 30 years of professional experience in environmental systems, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable natural resource management. His work focuses on integrating biodiversity conservation into agricultural and development policies, promoting ecosystem-based and nature-based solutions, and supporting sustainable food systems in arid and semi-arid regions. He has contributed to regional strategies, national frameworks, and capacity-building initiatives linking agriculture, environment, and food security.
